Hockey is a funny game. Crawford so bad one night and so spectacular the next.

Glad 72 is on our side.

Hope to keep treading water until Keith returns.

I'll also be back with a blog about a former high Hawk draft pick

Beach?

Good win last night, although I think they let some fans play the 2nd period.

Kuc wrote it. I'm personally not a big fan of his work and there's no mention of any possible trade partners. http://www.chicagotribune...talks-20151108-story.html

It's nice too see Rappin Rodney playing at this kind of level, honestly I don't think I've ever seen him play better, his glove hand looks soooooooo much better this year, he's letting the puck come to him instead of reaching or swiping for it . It couldn't come at a better time when you're in the middle of a mini rebuild and your best defenseman is injured, wow they are saying Keith might be back this weekend

I have to say I was half right I thought AA would succeed playing center with Kane so far so good.

But Damn that first line misses Saad a lot, I didn't realize how much that line relied on a gritty cycle play, I agree Dano looks/plays tougher than TT so why not throw him out there with 19 and 81, btw good to see Hossa back in the line up[/img]

Zone exits are terrible right now btw. Some of that is new guys, some of that is them changing the way they play to try to accommodate the young guys on the blue line.

Seabrook made some abhorrent zone clearances though with the giant on his left side there aren't a lot of options.

Keith coming back will solve a lot of problems. In fact, Keith\Seabs, Hammer\TVR, Daley\Gus would probably look pretty solid. Two solid shutdown lines. Keith can be Keith and Daley and Gustafsson can bum slay.

That second line though. Wow. They will not be denied.

Also, when does the Kane for Hart trophy parade start. Not until after Thanksgiving?

I am a lot less concerned with the D Core as time marches on.

Swedberg looks better every outing and Daley was flying last night. Daley just needs reps

Seabs Keith
TVR Hammer
Daley Swedberg

The group is growing on me.

Hey JJ, where do you think Rozisval factors into this when ready? Or does he at all? 5-6 D-man and scratch Svedberg?

How excited does Anisimov look playing with Kane and Panarin? Especially on that last goal of the night. I think he's pretty happy to be out of Ohio

The Hawk defense was pinned in their zone for long stretches last night, part is on the forwards who weren't supporting on the back check or helping down low. However there are only three defensemen who are fully capable of playing the style and to the standard expected from the coaching staff.

TVR understands what is expected but he's really only a rookie and is prone to mistakes because of his lack of experience. Svedberg is better than i expected but he too is a work in progress. Daley is still my biggest concern because the expectation of a veteran is so great yet defensively he is actually behind TVR and Svedberg and his decision making abilities is terrible. Last night I counted six different times when he was behind the opposition goalline fighting for puck possession. Personally I'd prefer to see Daley in the pressbox when Keith comes back.

The Hawks desperately need a veteran defenseman to play in the top four and hopefully the rumours are true and something is in the works and ideally they can move Daley as part of a package to get that defenseman.

Wow, they really took their foot off the gas in the 2nd period. EDM has some talent on offense, but all their young D look like they need at least another year in the AHL. Funny how much better a goalie Talbot was behind the NYR, as opposed to the mess he's playing for this season.

Agreed on Erik Gustafsson, he's better than I expected and fits the Blackhawk system well. It would appear he's working his way into a permanent spot on the 3rd pairing.

It will be nice to have Rozy available to offer some vet presence, especially against some of the big, physical western teams.

I'm still of the mindset that this team is a WIP and we'll have a better idea of where they stand at the ~30 game mark. Nice to see a motivated Kane carrying the team offensively along with Panarin right now...those 2 are just damn fun to watch out there. Anisimov seems to be the perfect center for those guys as well...strong defensively, big body, can dig in the corners. Now if he could just pick things up in the dot.

With the way Gustafsson has played I'm hoping we don't ever see Rundblad in the lineup again. The question is going to be who do you sit when Keith returns (Svedberg or Gustafsson) as Q seems to like big Sved.

As inconsistent as they've been, they're off to the same start (record-wise) as last year so things could be worse. I've stated before, but will repeat it again...the time was going to come when Q had to insert some kids in the lineup with the salary cap constraints. I'd much rather watch the youth develop then NHL retreads (Pisani, O'Donnell, Brunette, etc...) any day of the week.

The one thing the Hawks are creating here is defensive depth. Even if they go out and acquire a veteran, they have depth should someone get hurt. Depth as in guys with NHL experience not named David Rundblad.

I agree that Dano needs to go to line 1. He looks much more engaged in terms of having the willingness to shove guys out of the way and play along the boards. Hell Panarin is another option more than Teuvo. I wouldn't drop Teuvo though past line two.

Once Dano (or ????) fills in the top LW role, I think we will have the most lethal top 6 in the league... I think, and correct me if im mistaken, but Rozival will probably ride the LTIR rehab train until ~January to see where his legs are at and then see where his legs are at. Probably with split games with Sveddy, and Q will choose he wants to go with. That is all considering we don't make a trade for a dman and run with (once keith is healthy)

Keith-Seabrook
Daley?-Hjammer
Sveddy/rozival-TVR

or maybe they will keep hjammer at LD? He is more comfortable at RD though, right?

JJ, any legs to the Loui Eriksson idea you had a bit ago? Or just poking some fun hah.

Also, if by "auction" did you mean "audition" in your post?
